Wholesale & Private Label: Frequently Asked Questions
1) Ordering & Samples
What is your Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)?
Our standard MOQ for wholesale orders is $500 USD. For specific product lines (like custom-felted items or private label products), we typically require 50 units per design/color, but we are happy to discuss smaller “Trial Sets” for boutique owners.
Do you offer samples?
Yes, we highly recommend ordering samples before placing bulk orders. Samples are charged at a retail rate plus shipping. If you proceed with a bulk order (above $2,000 USD), the difference in sample cost will be credited back to your final invoice.
How do I place an order?
You can submit an inquiry through our Wholesale Form or email us directly at folknepal2000@gmail.com.
2) Private Label & Customization
Can I put my own brand labels on your products?
Absolutely. We offer full Private Label (OEM) services. We can stitch your brand labels, add custom hashtags, or even create a custom screen printed linings of you bags.
Can you create products based on my designs?
Yes. We specialize in custom product development. Simply send us your sketches, dimensions, and material preferences. Our design team in Kathmandu will work with you to create a prototype.
What materials can I customize?
You can choose from our core sustainable materials: Wild Himalayan Hemp, Recycled Sari Silk/Cotton, 100% Sheep Wool (Felt), and Natural Leathers.
3) Shipping & Logistics
Where do you ship from?
All orders are shipped directly from our workshop in Kathmandu, Nepal.
What are the shipping methods and lead times?
• Air Freight (FedEx/DHL/Aramex): 5–10 business days. Best for small to medium orders.
• Sea-Land Cargo (via Kolkata Port): 45–60 days. The most cost-effective option for high-volume orders (100kg+).
• Production Lead Time: Typically 4 to 8 weeks depending on the order size and seasonal demand.
Who pays for duties and taxes?
Orders are shipped on a DDU (Delivery Duty Unpaid) basis. The buyer is responsible for any import duties, VAT, or local taxes in their destination country.
4) Ethical Standards & Payments
Are your products ethically and fairly produced?
Yes. Folk Nepal is a committed social enterprise. We ensure fair wages, safe working conditions, and no child labour.
What are your payment terms?
We require a 50% deposit to begin production, with the remaining 50% plus shipping costs due upon completion, before the goods leave our facility.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Bank Wire Transfer (SWIFT) and secure online payments for smaller sample orders.
